Special Halloween Movie Friday, October 30th

Come join us INSIDE for a special Movies on the (INDOOR) Wall. We're showing Tim Burton's a The Nighmare Before Christmas (Rated PG) at the West Seattle activity center located at 4400 42nd Ave SW.

Doors open at 6pm and the movie starts at 7pm. Bring your chairs and blankets of course and some spending money for raffle tickets and concessions. Also, don't forget the food banks this year, bring a can of food and trade it in for a raffle ticket!

It is the same routine every year in Halloweentown, on Halloween the monsters come out and perform a real scare. This particular Halloween, the pumpkin king Jack Skellington, bored of the idea, saunters off into the woods with his dog Zero after Halloween night. Upon the break of dawn, he discovers a clearing of trees with different doors representing various holidays. The Christmas Tree door attracts his attention and upon entrance into the world of Christmas, Jack is fascinated with this new idea of Christmas that he must absolutely share with the citizens of Halloweentown.

Princess Bride a Great Success

Record-breaking crowds as reported by the West Seattle Blog http://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=18951. The bachlorette found her prince and went to the West 5 (thanks Dave for the gift certificate) and the 2 runners-up both received a gift card from Elliot Bay.

Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, we raised $128 for Westside Baby which was handed to them on Sunday during the Stuff the Bus diaper drive.

We're gearing up for the first movie of the season, The Princess Bride. This year we're going to bring way more fun events even before the movie. At 8:15 get ready for the WS dating game. You remember that, right? One gal, three dudes? Lot's of great questions. Join us to see which bachelor is picked! Gift certificate provided by West 5.

Napoleon Dynamite Pictures

Big fun at the last movie in the Winter series, Napoleon Dynamite! Tater Tot eating contest was a hoot with nine contestants going for the $25.00 Skylark Cafe gift certificate. Skylark was also kind enough to donate 5lbs of tater tots too for the event. Each contestant was asked why they thought they had a competitive edge over the others and the best answer was 'Because I didn't eat dinner and I'm darn hungry!'

Vote 4 Pedro cupcakes were provided by Coffee to a Tea with Sugar. Our raffle included items from local merchants and all the money went to West Side Baby. Thank you to everyone who supported this event. Watch for the summer series starting in July.

Willy Wonka Bit Hit!

Good times were had by all at the Willy Wonka show on Saturday. We had some great raffle items donated by Square One Books, West Seattle Christian Pre-School, Hands to Paws Pet Massage and Lady Di Pet Chaperone. All proceeds from the raffle went to WestSide Baby and Nancy was at the movies to say a few things too.

An English librarian called Evelyn Carnahan (Weisz) becomes interested in starting an archaeological dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra. He gains the help of Rick O'Connell (Fraser), after saving him from his death. What Evelyn, her brother Jonathan (Hannah) and Rick is unaware of if that another group of explorers are interested in the same dig. Unfortunatly for everyone, this group ends up unveiling a curse which has risen the dead High Priest Imhotep (Vosloo). Now 'The Mummy' is awake and it's going to take a lot more than guns to send him back from where he came from.
